KONSTANTINOS GEORGIADIS is a Professor at the University of Peloponnese, in the Department of Sports Organization and Management and Dean of the Faculty of Human Movement and Quality of Life Sciences. Dr. Georgiadis holds a PhD in Sports Science from the Johannes Gutenberg Universität of Mainz. His academic interests are in the history and revival of the Olympic Games, the social, political and cultural aspects of the Games, and Olympic Pedagogy. In addition, he has been the Dean of the International Olympic Academy from 1993 to 2004 and since 2005 he has been the IOA Honorary Dean. Dr. Georgiadis is currently the Director of the International Master’s Degree Program in Olympic Studies, which is organized by the University of Peloponnese and the International Olympic Academy. Since 2000, he has been a member of the IOC Commission for Culture and Olympic Education and in 2015 he was appointed a member of the Olympic Education Commission of the IOC. He has been a member of the Executive Committee of the International Society of Olympic Historians since its founding. During the organization of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens he was a member of the Executive Board of the “Athens 2004” Organizing Committee.
