Pound (CAN)

RICHARD POUND was a double Olympic finalist in Swimming at the 1960 Olympic Games and went on to become Secretary, then President, of the Canadian Olympic Committee. He was co-opted as a member of the International Olympic Committee in 1978 and served on its Executive Board for 18 years, including two terms as Vice President. He is the author of several books, including Five Rings Over KoreaInside the Olympics and Inside Dope as well as several published articles and papers on Olympic subjects. He was the founding President of the World Anti-Doping Agency, is a former member of the International Council of Arbitration for Sport, and is former Chairman of Olympic Broadcasting Services.
