We are pleased to present a gallery which offers a closer look at the prize winning entries in the inaugural ISOH Olympic History Poster competition. [The original announcement of the Poster Competition may be viewed here.]

It was held at the International Olympic Academy (IOA) Session for Young Ambassadors in Ancient Olympia where participants were invited to create a poster reflecting the development of the Olympic movement in their home countries and the wider world.

“The excellent idea of organising a competition during the session was a great success” said an international panel which chose the entry created by Mihaela Mitu and Alexandru Iscru from Romania as the overall winner.

Their poster encompassed the history of the Olympic movement in Romania and featured the first gold medal won by shooter Ivan Patzaichin and legendary champions including  canoeist Ivan Patzaichin  and Olympic discus champion Lia Manoliu and the incomparable  Nadia Comaneci, the first gymnast to achieve the perfect ten.

“Every participant was delighted to collaborate, and the results were outstanding!” said IOA Special advisor and Jury member Dr Dionyssis Gangas.

It is clear from the standard of  entries that judging was no simple task.
