2024 ISOH General Assembly to meet online, Saturday, 30 November

The 2024  ISOH  General Assembly is set to begin next Saturday (30th November) at 1400h CET. This year’s meeting will  be conducted Online with members of the society welcome to attend.

All members should have received an email with details of how to log on from ISOH Secretary General Markus Osterwalder on October 10th, but a reminder will be sent a few days before the event.

The meeting is scheduled to include reports from ISOH President Christian Wacker, Secretary-General Markus Osterwalder,Treasurer Hector Arguelles and our new Digital Projects Lead Nick Wolaver.

There will also be news about the Journal of Olympic History which remains our flagship publication and a chance to hear about  what’s in our special issue to mark Paris 2024.

The ISOH Strategy for the coming four year cycle from 2024 to 2028 will also be unveiled. The session also gives us an opportunity to celebrate Ingrid O’Neil, the 2024 winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The GA is expected to conclude at around 1700 CET.

This annual meeting has become an integral part of ISOH activities with successful gatherings in 2021 at the Fondation Coubertin at St Remy Le Chevreuse on the outskirts of Paris, Munich’s Olympic Park in 2022 and the USOPC Centre in Colorado Springs a year ago.

Earlier this year ISOH members attending the  Paris Olympics joined members of the International Pierre de Coubertin Committee, the International Fair Play Committee and Panathlon International at a meeting in Paris to exchange ideas. A full report will be included in issue 3/2024 of the Journal of Olympic History.

We look forward to giving a virtual welcome to as many ISOH members as possible for what  should be a memorable session next Saturday.
